LCD LED Repair

A Layman’s Guide to Repairing a LED LCD Display

A 19th century person would have gone to a circus or to a theatre to get some entertainment. A 20th century person must have paid a visit to a cinema to have fun. However, in the 21st century, if you are looking to have some fun and want to be entertained, all you need is a television set in your home. An LCD TV is an investment that may last for years and provide hours of entertainment to all the members of your home. However, after some years of usage, there will be problems and issues that will start developing in your LCD TV. No need to worry though; for all those people who know nothing about LCD/LED repair, here is a compressed guide to repairing their LCD/LED TVs all by themselves.

Issue # 1 – My LCD is not switching on

Nothing to worry about and do not even think about tossing your LCD TV into bin or go out to a shopping mall to buy a new one. If your LCD TV is not turning on, then most probably it is the power supply board of your LCD/LED TV that needs to be repaired or replaced. If you are on a tight budget and are already living hand-to-mouth, then you should consider repairing your TV’s power supply board yourself. There are many cylinder shaped capacitors on the power supply board; if the capacitors on your LCD TV’s power supply board are not perfectly cylindrical in shape, then it means that they have worn out and now, it’s time to replace them with a new one. For replacing these capacitors, you will need a soldering iron. However, bear in mind that replacing capacitors is not child’s play so, if you are not comfortable in replacing them on your own, then you should take it to a professional LCD/LED repairer.

Issue # 2 – My LCD TV switches on perfectly, I can even hear the sound, but the image isn’t displayed on the screen

There can be 2 reasons for this; either the CCFT tube of your LCD TV has stopped functioning, or the inverter that supplies electricity to the CCFT tube has worn out and needs to be repaired or replaced. In order to replace the CCFT tube or the inverter, you have to carefully open up the front panel of your LCD TV and locate a long circuit board in it. This long circuit board is the one on which you will find the inverter. Order the same model of the inverter board online and replace it with the malfunctioning one. Behind the inverter board is a long tube, known as the CCFT tube, which provides light to the display so that the images formed on the screen can easily be seen by the viewers. You can also purchase it and simply replace it with the older one.

Issue # 3 – My LCD TV’s screen flashes on and off but the power light remains on

If this is something that you are experiencing in you LCD TV, then it’s surely because of the inverter which needs to be replaced. We have already mentioned the location where you will find the inverter board in your LCD TV, so hustle up and do it yourself.

Issue # 4 – The picture display on my LCD TV screen is not clear and some lines appear on the screen

If there are horizontal or vertical lines forming on your screen, then it is highly likely that the video cable of your LCD TV needs to be replaced. Look for any broken or bent pins in your LCD’s video cable. Alternatively, you can also try running the auto-setup function on your LCD TV.

It will not be that easy to repair an LCD TV all by yourself; so, it is wise to contact a professional LCD LED Display repairer who is trained to correctly diagnose the problem and is an expert in solving it. Click here to contact a professional or contact us for more details.
